La clase de religión en un contexto de posmodernidad:: La dimensión espiritual del educando

Abstract

This paper reports the systematic reflection on the tension between the current understanding of the religion class and the demands of postmodern society. This emerges from three milestones for the Religion Teaching Career at Universidad Católica de Temuco: a) Consultation with different educational agents about the profile of the teacher of religion; b) The application of a survey to in – service teachers of religion about the object of study in a class of religion and; c) the accreditation agreement. The tension is approached from the recognition of cultural identity, an epistemological view on mankind, besides the processes of secularization shown in Chilean law. The systematization of the results has involved considering a new understanding of the class of religion focused on the spiritual development of the student.
