Entre l’homme et Dieu : répondre de la création

Abstract

In relation to the environmental question, this article tackles elements of a theology of creation. First, the author explores the biblical background and shows that Man is called towards an inaugurative, active existence upon the reception of a world that does not need to be scaled back to a human reality. Then, he elaborates upon the criticism of an inherited anthropocentrism, not in order to substitute any biocentrism, but rather to propose a third way that will be built upon a re-reading of the history we are coming from. It will take the form of a genealogy which will need to be constructed and which be linked to a set of problems, to be constructed as well. The article concludes with a reflection on the social, political and religious realms, granting the function and limitations of each.
