Abstract

Death, like a fact that manifests at the consciousness through the death of the other, leaves a trail of doubts and uncertainties that cannot be solved from mere biological sciences. Simultaneously, these hesitations are cause of anguish and psychological pain by whom is near at this experience, pains and anxieties that are not strange to the Christian believer. Faced with this reality, it is natural to ask for appropriate analysis model for such experience, to establish the reasons for the suffering caused in spite of the belief in resurrection. Considering the above, the present paper pretend to analyze the experience of death within a context of Christian faith, using as reference the model of phenomenological analysis based on the structure of intentional experiences, overall with the group of allusive stories to the death presents in Saint Augustine’s Confessions.
