Aproximación filosófica a la pregunta por el conocimiento artístico-cinematográfico

Abstract

Affirming the existence of artistic knowledge —especially cinematic knowledge— raises significant issues. On the one hand, if the authorship of knowledge belongs to the sciences, to their methods, definitions, and practices, we encounter resistance from the arts, since a deeper examination of the image reveals that, beneath the projections of scientific worlds, there exists an imaginary a priori that makes them function. On the other hand, the current scientific reliance on the image —highly widespread—points, however, to the continuous affirmation of its own place in culture, reaffirming its ideological and imaginary character, thus running counter to any intention of artistic knowledge insofar as the imaginary condition underlying the sciences must not be made visible by them.
