Abstract

The current international dialogue on the meaning and interpretation of Vatican II is strongly determined by the dialectic continuity-discontinuity. That the debate has been focuses within this perspective and categories represents a major limitation. However, it provides an opportunity to address the question of its epochal significance within a long term perspective. From the expression of Yves Congar, quoted in the title and in dialogue with several authors, the text addresses the issue with particular attention to the transformation of various historical and cultural forms of faith and ecclesial experience: some are abandoned, others begin to take form.
